Bio Carrie Grainger is a visual artist, film maker and researcher, she was born in October 1991 in Ascot, Berkshire and is currently based near Reading, Uk. Education PhD in Fine Art (2020- Present) Cardiff Metropolitan University MA in Fine Art (2017) Bath Spa University BA Hons in Fine Art (2014) University of the Creative Arts, Farnham. Artist Statement Grainger's work explores different cultural superstitions, symbolisms and ritual practices and ceremonies through multiple forms such as mask making, sculpture, documented performance and film. She draws from different histories, occurences and belief systems largely based around connections to the land and the spiritual and engages with and recycles themes surrounding mysticism, folklore, concealed societies and pop culture.
